
Marine Science International A-Level
The A-Level in Marine Science is a holistic subject, bringing together a range of interdisciplinary fields together to examine marine
life, ocean dynamics, and their influence on climate and human activities (as well as vice versa). Students will learn about different marine ecosystems such as tropical reefs, the ocean, and rocky and sandy shores. Human impact and the exploitation of marine resources on our waters will also be investigated.
The five key areas that students will study are: Observation and experiment; the science of water; forming and shaping the ocean floor and coastlines; organisms in their environment; human influences in local and global contexts.
Prerequisites
It is useful for learners to have completed a GCSE/iGCSE in Biology or Marine Science or the equivalent.
Format
Independent reading and essay-based subject.
