Environmental Science A Level

The A-Level in Environmental Science is a holistic subject, bringing together a range of interdisciplinary fields together to examine complex environmental issues.


The syllabus includes six key scientific principles: the living environment; the physical environment; energy sources; pollution; biological resources; sustainability; and research methods.


In addition to studying the theoretical aspects of environmental science, students are also expected to investigate environmental issues through hands-on scientific research such as habitat population surveys, monitoring invasive species, monitoring changes in populations using satellite imagery.


Format

Independent reading and essay-based subject.
