Biology A Level

The Biology A-Level gives students the opportunity to increase their knowledge and competence in Biology.


A range of biological ideas are explored including: cells, biodiversity, enzymes, ecosystems, energy transfers, respiration, neuronal communication, genetics, gene expression, biological molecules to name a few. The course allows for practical investigations to use apparatus and techniques, develop knowledge and research skills and link them to theory.


Key Skills Acquired

Analysis, investigative problem solving, decision making, scientific research, references and reporting, following scientific procedures, making and recording observations


Prerequisites

Higher level Maths at GCSE (or equivalent) is required as a portion of the course requires maths skills.


Complimentary A-Levels

Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Geography, Environmental Science, Further Maths, Physical Education.

Examinations.
