What Is a Data Analytics Degree?
Data Analytics is the study of how to use data to make better decisions. It combines mathematics, statistics, computing, and business understanding to find patterns, make predictions, and guide strategy in every field from healthcare to sport.Why Study Data Analytics?
In today’s digital world, data is everywhere - and companies need people who can make sense of it. Studying Data Analytics gives you the skills to turn numbers into insights that shape products, policies, and progress.Most Data Analytics degrees cover:

Degree Types
BSc (Bachelor of Science): Focuses on analytical, mathematical, and technical skills.
Integrated Master’s: A four-year degree offering advanced research and practical applications of data science.
Statistical Analysis – interpreting datasets using statistical methods and data modelling techniques.
Data Cleaning & Preparation – organising, transforming, and validating data for accurate analysis.
Data Visualisation – presenting insights clearly through dashboards, charts, and visual tools.
Programming for Data – using languages like Python, R, or SQL to analyse and manage data.
Analytical Problem-Solving – using data-driven approaches to answer business or research questions.
A-levels or equivalent including Maths or a strong analytical subject. Computer Science, Further Maths, Business, Economics, or Physics are beneficial.
