About the Course
What Is a Mathematics & Economics Degree?
Mathematics & Economics combines the logic and precision of mathematics with the insight of economics. It explores how data, models, and quantitative reasoning explain decisions made by individuals, businesses, and governments.
Why Study Mathematics & Economics?
This degree is perfect if you enjoy problem-solving and want to apply mathematical thinking to real-world issues like inflation, inequality, and global trade. It builds analytical and numerical skills that are highly valued in finance, policy, and data-driven industries.
Most Mathematics & Economics degrees cover:
Calculus, algebra, and statistics
Microeconomics and macroeconomics
Econometrics and data analysis
Probability and mathematical modelling
Financial and monetary economics
Optimisation and game theory
Applied mathematics for economic systems
Later in your course, you can usually specialise - for example, in finance, data analytics, international economics, or public policy.
